Woolworths ties with AOL UK

High-street retailer Woolworths has struck a marketing and distribution deal with AOL UK that will see it launch a series of seasonal promotional microsites on the portal.

The first promotion will run until Easter Sunday, offering AOL UK users £2 off every £20 spent in-store through a downloadable voucher online.

Woolworths will distribute free trial CDs for AOL in its 816 UK stores.

The deal will also see a Woolworths ad placed within AOL's shopping channel and relevant areas of the portal.

Mindy Mount, executive vice-president of AOL UK, said: "The Easter promotion shows how mechanisms such as online vouchers can be used to drive traffic to retail stores."
