Wnek raids DDB and BBH for Lowe creative line-up

NEW YORK - Mark Wnek has raided DM9DDB Brazil for Cannes winner Fernanda Romano and Bartle Bogle Hegarty New York for creative directors John Hobbs and Peter Rosch to oversee the creative output of his Lowe NY.

All three will hold the post of executive creative directors and will report directly to chairman and chief executive Wnek, who was appointed in April when he replaced Gary Goldsmith as chairman and chief creative officer.

Romano has won seven Cyber Lions in the past year, helping DDB's digital arm win the coveted Cannes Interactive Agency of the Year.

She is also a regular guest speaker on Brazilian television and teaches at the Interactive and Commmunications Design Miami Ad School and ESPM Sao Paulo.

Art director Hobbs and copywriter Rosch were joint creative directors at BBH Nework. The two have won multiple Cannes Lions for their work for Levi's, Rolling Stone and Axe at BBH.

"John and Peter are far and away the best creative team I've seen in the US," Wnek said.

Of Romano's appointment, he said there are no barriers between interactive and traditional advertising at Lowe.

"It's simply and radically, there are no silos in the new Lowe -- no barriers between interactive, direct, wireless or so-called traditional advertising. A great idea doesn't care who has it," he said.

The trio will oversee all creative output across Lowe's client roster including Unilever, Saab cars and Johnson & Johnson.
