Williams takes on MD job at IPC Country & Leisure Media

LONDON - Paul Williams has been named managing director of IPC Country & Leisure Media after acting in the role since March this year.

Prior to taking up the job three months ago, Williams was commercial director of the Country & Leisure Media marine division, which publishes Yachting and Boating World. He first joined the company in 1985 as a sales executive on Homes & Garden magazine.

Sylvia Auton, chief executive of IPC Media, was managing director of Country & Leisure Media before being promoted after the departure of Sly Bailey. The division includes titles such as Country Life, Horse & Hound and Shooting Times.

IPC has also named human resources director Dee Mair to the board. She has previously held human resources roles at United Business Media, including human resources director of Express Newspapers. She has been with IPC since September 2003.
