Whole Foods job handed to Liquid

LONDON - Whole Foods Market, the organic and natural foods retailer, has hired direct agency Liquid Communications to handle the launch of its first UK store.

The US retailer plans to open the 125,000ft2 outlet on Kensington High Street, London, later this year, on the former site of Barkers department store.

Liquid, which was hired following a competitive pitch, will create direct activity to promote the branch.

Whole Foods Market plans to open more than 40 stores in the UK over the next couple of years, before expanding into Europe.

The organic food market is worth £1.6bn in the UK and is growing 30% a year, according to the Soil Association.
