The partnership will see Westfield become an official supplier to the AOC.

Westfield Stratford City will be a key site for the Australian Olympic team during the Games, and will host the AOC’s team reception on 26 July at the Southern Cross Lounge.

The event will be the only occasion where all of the Australian team and Olympic family will gather in one place during the Games.

Westfield will provide on-site athlete support facilities for the team and an office for the AOC.

John Coates, president of the Australian Olympic Committee, said: "The AOC is delighted Westfield can support our 2012 team in hosting our team reception. Westfield have pulled out all stops to make this happen and prepared an enormous room within their complex to host our team."

Frank Lowy, Westfield Group chairman, said: "As a global business with an Australian heritage, partnering with the AOC was a natural fit and Westfield Stratford City."
