Burger chain Wendy’s has added a timely twist to its free fries and

drink promotion with a spoof election campaign featuring its

international marketing director, Charles Bruce.

The brand awareness promotion devised by below-the-line agency, One Four

One, starts on March 31 with a 600,000 door drop and four-week radio

campaign.

The ’Vote for Charles Bruce’ leaflets will be dropped around the

restaurant areas and given out at football matches. Trayliners will

feature his biography and Bruce’s manifesto will be displayed in the

restaurants.

Wendy’s has 19 stores in the UK, but is looking to expand to 100 by the

end of next year. A UK marketing director is also expected to be

appointed by the end of the year.
