1-4 May:

Annual festival Streets of Spain returned to London’s Southbank over the Bank holiday weekend. Visitors could immerse themselves in Spanish culture at the world-famous La Boqueria market and sample Spanish street food including paella and churros. Spanish music and art was the focus at Madrid’s Plaza Mayor, meanwhile the Logrono vineyard served Spanish wines, and attendees could even blend their own creations. 

Synaesthete Nick Ryan unveiled the . Here, attendees could step inside a specially-designed, soundproof space and listen to bespoke compositions created by Ryan, all the while sampling three of Campo Viejo’s wines.

5 May:

Mexican food brand Old El Paso popped-up at London’s bustling Victoria station to celebrate Cino de Mayo day. For one day only the stand delivered cooking demonstrations from celebrity chef Andy Bates, who used Old El Paso products to create Mexican-style dishes. Passers-by were invited to sample his creations, as well as pick-up recipe cards so they could re-create the meals at home.

6 May: Hire Space's second birthday celebrations

Venue-booking website Hire Space marked its second year in business with a celebratory party at the top of the ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Olympic Park. More than 250 industry professionals descended on the venue, where they were treated to canapés from in-house caterer East Twenty Events, drinks by The Looking Glass Cocktail Club and live music from DJ Tommy Atkins.

Tours were available for guests interested in booking the ArcelorMittal Orbit for events, and a photobooth from Say Fromage was available for guests to capture moments from the evening. 

The company also took the opportunity to announce the launch of its new venue-booker reward program, Hire Space Plus, on the night. The new offering entitles members to benefits including free account management, priority access to offers and deals, new venue alerts, and event and showcase invitations.
