Bebo, the social networking site, has hired MTV's Angel Gambino in an attempt to rival MySpace as a place for bands to showcase their wares.
Gambino, the former vice-president of commercial, strategy and digital media at MTV, will become Bebo's vice-president, music, and will work on forming new relationships with record labels and launching features to help users listen to music via the site.
