The Week: Media News - DfT drink-driving ad wins at Radio Advertising Awards

The most outstanding radio ad at this year's Radio Advertising Awards went to a Department for Transport campaign by Leo Burnett and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, with Carat and Starcom, warning about the penalties for drink-driving.

The judges said: "The DfT has constantly and unfalteringly pushed the radio creative boundaries, using challenging and powerful approaches that deliver their message brilliantly, and are appreciated by the listener."

MediaCom was named media agency of the year on the back of campaigns for advertisers including Direct Line and Churchill.

Other Aerial winners included AMV BBDO and PHD's "here's the deal, here's the idea" for Sainsbury's, WCRS and MediaCom's "mandarin" for Churchill, and M&C Saatchi and MediaCom's "disruption" for Direct Line.
