LONDON - Waterstones and Penguin have tied up to launch an experiential campaign to support the release of the new Fame movie.

Penguin's kids imprint Sunbird, which is launching a series of Fame-themed books, is organising dance workshops in stores prior to the films premiere on September 25.

The campaign has also been organised by Rocket Licensing, which holds the license for the Fame brand.

The first two workshops will be held on September 12 at Waterstones' outlets in Manchester and Milton Keynes. The sessions will allow for 50 kids and be led be a professional dance instructor.

Marketing support will include email to subscribers of Penguin's main kids imprint Ladybird as well as in-store POS.

Upcoming Fame books include Fame Official Movie Storybook, the Star Portfolio Poster Book, the I Love Fame Quizbook.

Eric Huang, category publisher at Penguin Books, said: "With the publication of our four film tie-in books planned for late August, and the film arriving in late September, these events are perfectly timed to raise awareness and build excitement around the film release the books and the Fame licensing campaign as a whole."
