LONDON - International design, fashion and lifestyle magazine, Wallpaper, is launching a special edition October issue with guest editors, designers Karl Lagerfeld and Philippe Starck.

Both designers have created alternative covers for the issue with one creating an opportunity for a bespoke ad.

Starck's front cover has three layers made of see-through tracing paper, each with an image representing a different stage of evolution. Absolut Vodka is using the transparent paper cover wrap for a double-layered ad on the outside back cover promoting its Rock Edition bottle.

Lagerfeld's cover features model Baptiste Giabiconi. Readers can peel off this image to reveal another, which shows the model naked.

The magazine is also involved in a tie up with Victorinox, the creator of the Swiss Army Knife, to launch three limited-edition pocket knives. It is taking part in a Norway exhibition curated by Wallpaper design editor Henrietta Thompson, which is exhibiting at London's 100% Design Festival.
