Wall Street Journal and Diners launch credit card

LONDON - The Wall Street Journal Europe is teaming up with Diners Club Europe to launch a co-branded credit card to increase loyalty among its readers.

The card will offer all the usual Diners Club services including unlimited spending, reward programmes, acceptance in more than 8m establishments worldwide and access to exclusive Diners Club Airport lounges.

Rien van Lent, managing director of The Wall Street Journal Europe, said: "We look forward to bringing the worldwide benefits of the Diners Club Europe card to our new and existing readers."

Starting this month, all new subscribers to the paper will be sent a credit card with the annual fee waived for the first year. From April, the offer will also be extended to subscribers who renew their contracts.

Carlo Nicolai, president of Diners Club Europe, said: "Both companies pride themselves on guaranteeing their customers only top class services, tailoring their service to specific target customers and being the key European player within leading international organisations."
