Waitrose moves marketing director Suzanna Duke to new role

LONDON - Waitrose has moved its marketing director Suzanna Duke to the position of director, ambient buying and appointed Rupert Thomas to the role of director, marketing and brand development.

Thomas previously headed up the brand development and innovation team.  

A Waitrose spokeswoman said that the supermarket's buying and marketing departments will continue to work closely together and both will report to the company's commercial director Richard Hodgson.

Waitrose, whose advertising is handled by MCBD, increased its ad spend from £9.5m in 2007 to £15.6m in 2008, according to Nielsen.
