The magazine, to be based in Mumbai, will be the 17th global edition of Vogue.
It will be published by Condé Nast India, a new division headed by Alex Kuruvilla, a former managing director of MTV India and executive vice president of MTV Networks Asia.
Nicholas Coleridge, vice-president of Condé Nast International, is overseeing the establishment of the Indian business.
The editor will be Priya Tanna, formerly of DNA and Times of India. Arjun Mehra, formerly publisher of L'Officiel in India, has been named publisher.
In the UK, Condé Nast is to launch an interactive shopping guide called Stylefinder.com in March next year, its first stand-alone UK website with no print companion.
The new site will target 15 to 45 year old women, providing information on a range of fashion and beauty items including high street and designer labels.
