The deal gives Vodafone 100% control of Vizzavi, with the exception of Vizzavi France, which is now wholly owned by Vivendi.
According to Vodafone, it will continue to focus Vizzavi on providing multimedia entertainment-led consumer content and plans to further integrate it into the Vodafone Group.
Despite recent stories suggesting that Vodafone was set to dump the Vizzavi brand, the mobile phone giant insists that it has no plans to scrap the brand or fold it into Vodafone's Global Products and Services division.
Speaking recently to Marketing, chief operating officer for the Vodafone Group, Julian Horn-Smith, said: "Suggestions that the Vizzavi brand will be dropped, or that Vizzavi will become part of Vodafone's Global Products and Services division, are entirely wrong."
In January, Vizzavi revised the business model to pull revenues from premium content back into the portal instead into the parent firms.
