Visitors angry at Business 2012

The organisers of Business 2012 have come under fire from attendees claiming the three-day event was badly organised.

Event organiser Blak Pearl is behind the business summit at the O2 Arena which concludes today (20 March). It featured Richard Branson and Lord Alan Sugar as keynote speakers.

Pink Buddha Events tweeted yesterday that it was "disappointed" with the organisation, claimed the registration process was "chaos" and said it was a bad reflection on the events industry.

Other visitors complained that timings of key seminars and workshops changed at the last minute and the timetable adjustments were not communicated to attendees.

A spokesperson from Astons of London blogged: "My printed timetable of all the workshops and seminars didn’t correspond to the one printed in the brochure given at the show."

Lenka Podolanova, founder of Auri Events, told Event it was difficult to plan her day because there wasn’t a "schedule for keynote speakers available anywhere online".

Podolanova also said that the venue was "extremely cold" and by the end of the day, "even the exhibitors were cold wearing scarves and coats".

The unofficial @business2012 twitter handle was also set up on the first day of the show, seemingly as a platform to complain about the low temperatures.

However, Podolanova said that despite the issues, there was lots of interesting things to see and the organisers "did particularly good with the seminars and keynote speakers choices", and added that she would return to the event next year.

Organisers Blak Pearl were unable to comment at the time of going to press, but the event’s official Twitter handle @biz2012 tweeted this morning: "we’ve done our best to rectify issues from the first day".

Today, the event’s feed contained several tweets giving times of speakers and keynotes.
