Virgin Wines turn to WDMP for their Christmas push

LONDON - Online wine retailer Virgin Wines has appointed WDMP to develop its Christmas customer direct mail campaign.

Virgin Wine is offering customers the opportunity to purchase heavily discounted Christmas cases of wine or specially packaged three-bottle gift packs, designed for the festive season.

WDMP has been tasked with developing a campaign that will drive sales either online or through its call centre.

Shiona McDougall, marketing director at Virgin Wine, said: "The creative challenge WDMP faces is to sell wine during this crucial period, while communicating the ease of purchasing online, and all in keeping with the Virgin Wines tone and style."

Virgin Wines claims to be the largest independent online wine retailer in Europe, currently selling over 300,000 cases of wine a year.

WDMP was founded late last year and currently includes Amazon.co.uk, ntl:home, British Gas, Carphone Warehouse and Johnson & Johnson among its clients.
