LONDON - Virgin Trains has appointed MCBD to handle its £6m ad business.

The rail operator announced it was reviewing its agency arrangements in May. The account had been with RKCR/Y&R since Virgin Trains' launch in 1997.

The brand is likely to increase its marketing as high fuel prices encourage motorists to consider rail travel.

Virgin Trains is rolling out a series of video podcasts to support its through-fare partnership with Eurostar. The are available on the Virgin Trains website, YouTube and iTunes.
