Virgin Mobile stepped up its sponsorship activity during the sixth
V2001 festival this year by creating branded Trailer Park environments
at both sites.
V2001 took place on 18 and 19 August at Weston Park, Staffordshire and
Hylands Park, Chelmsford in Essex. The Virgin Mobile Trailer Park
comprised four themed mobile homes with trailer park residents, DJs and
merchandise.
The Lads Trailer featured phone recharging facilities and the new Game
Boy Advance console. Visitors could play cards or get a Henna tattoo
from an actor playing The Uncle.
The Girls trailer offered manicures, massages and gossip from the
stage.
The Surveillance trailer comprised an Internet Cafe in the bedroom and
the latest Virgin Mobile and Siemens technology while the DJ trailer
kept visitors entertained.
"Visitors were also able to send a text message to the festival which
appeared on the branded screens either side of the main stage," a Virgin
Mobile spokesman said. "Visitors were able to borrow a Siemens festival
phone for the weekend with £20 of airtime with the option of
buying it after the event."
Meanwhile, event webcast firm Wembley TV hosted the festival's second
stage and teamed up with Mission Television to film the event for
ITV.
