LONDON - Virgin Radio is to launch a pre-Christmas marketing drive on-air and online to promote the station.

The Bank it or Bust promotion, offering listeners the chance to win a share of £50,000, a skiing holiday or a trip to Lapland, will be supported by a national outdoor marketing campaign, will run on Christian O’Connell’s breakfast show and Russ Williams’ mid-morning show from 29 October.

Listeners can register for the competition at and those invited on-air will get the chance to win a prize by shouting ‘bank it’ to decide when the fund clock stops. They will be left with either money banked - or nothing.

Pre-promotion for the competition, which is also designed to drive traffic to the station’s website, begins on 22 October with the on-air competition ending on 12 November.

The outdoor campaign, which is being run across the UK with Primesight, will feature O’Connell asking ‘Got the Nerve?’. An online marketing campaign will target families on entertainment websites.
