Mark Sammon, previously commissioning editor of Living, has been appointed to the newly created role of head of commissions, VMtv.

Chris Collie, previously head of scheduling for Living and Virgin1, has been promoted to another new role, head of scheduling and channel strategy.

Last year, Virgin Media TV appointed Claudia Rosencratz to the newly created role of director of television. She joined the broadcaster as director of programmes for Living in April 2006, after 10 years at ITV, where she was controller of entertainment.

Rosencrantz said the appointments were part of the company's strategy to integrate the VMtv portfolio by bringing the channel teams together.

Sammon will be responsible for commissioning all original productions across the VMtv portfolio of entertainment channels Living, Virgin1, Bravo, Challenge and Trouble and overseeing the commissioning editors Sophie Morgan, Rebecca Johnson and Lucy Pilkington.

Chris Collie was made head of scheduling for Living and Virgin1 in March 2007. His new remit takes in the remaining VMtv channels Bravo, Trouble and Challenge. Leading an eight strong team, Collie will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and continuity for all the channels and overhauling channel navigation.
