Fans at home will be able to tune into the show on a PC, tablet or mobile device. The show will take place on Sunday 17 August at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, where seven cameras will be capturing the action.

At the Virgin Media Our House installation, which the brand is working with agency Itch on, Chelmsford festival-goers will be able to watch Naughty Boy, Shy FX and Redlight perform, while those attending the festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire, will be treated to performances from Sub Focus and Hannah Wants.

Our House is free to all festival-goers and will be at both sites, opening from 12pm. Dubbed by the brand as 'the summer’s biggest house party', it will be powered by Virgin Media's superfast broadband so fans can share their experience, as well as offering mobile recharge points.

Richard Larcombe, brand and marketing director at Virgin Media, said: "This year we are inviting everyone to join in the ultimate house party experience, live from V Festival. By live-streaming the sound-clash from Our House, it means even more people can get involved and experience the festival – whether they’re logging on from their living room or their garden."

Mike White, managing director of Itch, added: "A live stream is a perfect way to bring Virgin Media’s major sponsorship to life while clearly demonstrating their superior network. Itch believe in creating truly engaging brand experiences that put the brand directly in the hands of the audience. Giving people content and artists such as Rudimental and Hospital Records will deliver this."

On-site at the festivals, Virgin Media customers will also be treated to their own exclusive chill-out area, called Our Garden, which will be located next to Our House. The space will contain comfy seats, a cash bar, free wi-fi and ‘posh’ loos, the brand has revealed. Guests to Our Garden will also have the chance to win experiences such as access to the side of the stage to watch V Festival acts.
