
The site, , developed by digital production agency Put It Out, allows users to test the speed of the broadband they are using.
Consumers can also compare the speeds advertised by internet service providers (ISPs) against the internet speeds actually being delivered.
Virgin Media claims that many ISPs advertise speeds of "up to" 20MB or 24MB but deliver an average speed of 6.5MB.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has asked for a review of broadband speed claims in advertising.
The site gives people the opportunity to sign a petition calling for change to the way broadband speed is advertised.
Virgin Media said it has provided the information about the competition in order to make sure consumers’ voices are heard during the ASA review.
