Virgin Holidays targets the recently returned in DM push

LONDON - Virgin Holidays is targeting members of its loyalty club who have recently returned from trips in a new campaign created by Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw.

The agency has created a direct mailing to promote 2008 holidays, which is being sent to members of the Frequent Virgin Club.

The campaign targets 2,500 customers a month on a rolling basis, and encourages members to phone for brochures or visit the Virgin Holidays website to plan their next holiday.

It features a twist on the usual "wish you were here" cliche, by asking members "wish you weren't here" and personalising the mailing with the member's name.

Helen Litvak, general manager of CRM at Virgin Holidays, said: "Research has shown us that many customers start thinking about their next holiday as soon as they return from their previous one.

"This is partly about banishing the post-holiday blues, but for many people researching and planning the holiday is almost as much fun as going on it."
