Projection Advertising created the 270 degree projection show on London’s horseshoe-shaped landmark, which stands at 64m tall. It was organised in partnership with agency BMB Neon.

Richard Branson launched the event by swinging a champagne bottle at the building, which appeared to shatter as the projection began. It featured images from Virgin’s other businesses such as Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Trains and Virgin Galactic as well as the slogan "40 years of better. Now in a bank."

Branson’s Twitter followers and Facebook fans were invited to the show, which used fifteen projectors and was played three times as an audience gathered outside Senate House.

Projection Advertising managing director Tom Burch told Event: "It was an epic show – the biggest and brightest projection we’ve produced. All this was amplified by some awesome creative and really clever 3D modeling. It’s a visual spectacle for a live audience, creates stunning photos for a press opportunity and then has massive viral potential millions of viewers."
