Video Networks inks deal with DreamWorks for on-demand films

LONDON - Video Networks has signed a multi-year deal with Hollywood studio DreamWorks to receive a steady stream of films including 'Shrek 2' and 'Shark Tale' for its HomeChoice movie service.

The deal sees DreamWorks supplying Video Networks pay-per-view channel Film 1st with the latest blockbuster releases including the recent films 'The Terminal' and 'The Stepford Wives'.

The HomeChoice service has recently been expanded and will have a potential reach of 2.4m homes by June 2005.

Jonathan Sykes, managing director content and strategy at Video Networks, said: "The new movies will enable Video Networks to continue to offer its customers the latest and greatest film content and reinforces Film 1st's position as a leading movie channel in the market."

HomeChoice recently launched a £2m marketing campaign to push its service and 80-plus digital channels.

The creative builds around the "Demand More" tagline and focuses on how HomeChoice offers more than 1,000 on-demand movies, and channels including Sky Sports and Sky Movies, TV programmes on demand and a replay service.
