Monica Majumdar is joining Wavemaker as head of strategy, where she will join the agency leadership board and report to chief strategy officer and exco committee member Verra Budimlija.
Majumdar is responsible for leading the UK strategy team. Her role will focus on strategic thinking that "enables client growth through Wavemaker's positive provocation positioning". She will also be charged with supporting agency growth, including attracting new business.
She joins from Verizon, where she was head of strategy for more than two years. At Verizon she established a “highly skilled” strategy team, led creative solutions and revamped the company’s award strategy.
Majumdar brings more than 15 years of communications strategy experience to Wavemaker, having specialised in FMCG and UK marketing.
Before Verizon, she was the head of strategy and planning at Spark Foundry, and has previously worked at PHD and Starcom MediaVest.
“Monica is a highly effective and impressive senior practitioner with a wealth of experience using data and insights, strategic thinking and putting the audience at the heart of everything she does,” Budimlija said.
