VCCP bolsters creative department with new hires

LONDON - Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest has strengthened its creative department, recruiting talent from the UK and overseas.

Australians Dave Gibson and Ben Webster, along with freelance team Matt Gilbert and David Tokley have been added to the now 40-strong department.

Formerly at JWT, Gibson and Webster have worked together for five years on clients including Vodafone, Pepsi and HSBC.

Rooney Carruthers, VCCP founding partner and creative head, said: "Agencies can no longer just look for creative talent only from the UK.

"It is now a worldwide search for quality teams. There really is a global market in talent."

Gilbert and Tokley have worked on a portfolio of clients including Sony, Renault, Allied Domecq and Superdrug. Prior to freelancing, they worked for five years at former Publicis agency, Comma.

At VCCP, Gilbert and Tokley will work the agency's O2, Dyson and Five accounts.

Nick Windsor has also joined as account director on O2. As a freelance account director at several agencies including Drugstore and at BDS Beechwood, he has worked with Vodafone, NTL, Dell and Diageo.

Carruthers said: "It is heartening to see that there is enough quality talent in the market place to allow us to readily hire leading professionals to service our burgeoning business."

In April, VCCP won Five's 拢5m advertising account from TBWA\London. The same month the Middle Eastern state of Qatar handed the agency its 拢10m Financial Centre business without a pitch.

In May, it was appointed by Coca-Cola to handle the multimillion-pound launch campaign for Coke Zero, a brand that will compete with Pepsi Max.
