The new advertising breaks during the Arsenal v Chelsea Champions League match on ITV1 on April 6 and develops the "seriously big" theme. A simple execution, it shows a young apprentice who appears to be lost in a dark space. The young man strikes a match and calls out, with his voice echoing in the dark. But it is quickly revealed that he has simply lost himself in the back of his boss's huge van.
Jon Leicester, commercial vehicles brand manager at Vauxhall, said: "The TV launch of our commercial vehicles marque is a demonstration of Vauxhall's commitment to this specialist sector. The relaunch of Movano strengthens a comprehensive product line-up, backed by an experienced van dealership network."
Lowe is currently supporting the Vauxhall Combo light van on radio with scripts featuring Paul Daniels. The illusionist is initially disbelieving that the relatively small van can deliver four kitchen appliances at once and then attempts to cash in on the discovery by introducing it in his stage show.
Both campaigns were written and art directed by James Springall and Craig Hanratty, with creative direction by Don Barclay and Kevin Kneale. The Movano spot was directed by Simon Cracknell at Large Productions. Media planning and buying is through Initiative Media.
