
The campuses, which have been produced in-house by the student recruitment team, will pop up between 1pm on 14 August until 1pm on 16 August. Locations include The Point in Doncaster, the White Cloth Gallery in Leeds, The Parcel Yard in King’s Cross, London, and Newcastle Arts Centre.
Staff and students will be on-hand to chat to students who may be thinking about applying to the university through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service's (UCAS) clearing process.
The pop-ups will also feature a phone that will connect students to the university’s clearing hotline. If they are made an offer, they will be given two free train tickets to Hull to tour the real campus.
For students already confirmed to study at Hull, a pre-September social will be held at the mini campuses to give new students a chance to mingle.
Claire Hughes from the University of Hull told Event the socials will include a buffet and non-alcoholic drinks reception. Students will be able to meet and chat to other new and current student ambassadors, and staff will also be there to answer other queries they, or their parents, may have.
Jeanine Gregersen-Hermans, director of student recruitment at the University of Hull, added: "There are lots of different ways that prospective students can get in touch with us these days – we do regular live online chats with current students, and through clearing much of the contact applicants have with us is via the phone.
"This is great, but it is no substitute for being able to talk to someone face-to-face about your options. By taking the campus out into different places, we’re giving prospective students the chance to get a real feel for us. It encourages them to realise that, if they are considering different options to what they might have anticipated, actually, they’re the ones that are in control here."
The pop-up event series was launched after a trial in London, Manchester and Birmingham last year, which saw 76% of visitors to the pop-ups go on to accept a place at the university.
