Bar Chocolat, which will be hosted at Mercer Street Studios between 11 and 16 September, will feature a large-scale edible art installation created by artisan chocolatier Amelia Rope and stylist Petra Storrs, as well as a scent and flavour experience developed by Bompas & Parr, who are best known for their jelly-based food designs.
Storrs, who created a stained-glass dress for pop singer Lady Gaga’s Born This Way music video, will be developing an elaborately staged bar space as part of the experience to add an element of theatre for visitors drinking Bompas & Parr’s Baileys Chocolat Luxe Rococo Serve.
Other highlights of the free six-day experience include a video installation produced by music director Tabitha Denholm, and a musical composition by DJ Lou Hayter.
Bar Chocolat will also be hosting a series of ticketed events including a unique experimental supperclub from food design company Blanch & Shock. The three-course dinner for 30 guests will combine theatre and innovative cuisine with food laid directly on to a long U-shaped table.
