Unilever replaces chief marketer Clift with internal promotion

LONDON - Unilever has appointed its executive vice-president homecare, oral care and water Keith Weed as chief marketing and communications officer, replacing Simon Clift.

Weed will take up the role, which unlike Clift's includes responsibility for communications, on 1 April.

He will report to chief executive Paul Polman and be a member of the Unilever Executive.

Polman said: "This is the first time Unilver has had a CMO at the top table and is a key step to having a sharper consumer focus in the company. Keith iwill be leading marketing, including the development of the Unilever brand."

In February it was announced that to spend more time with his family in Brazil.
