Created by Red Bee Media the humorous idents launch this Sunday and are an attempt to reinforce the channel's positioning as ‘the home of witty banter'.
Dave, which is one year-old this month, will rollout four new 30-second idents which show fun activities with an alternative twist, all taking place in an English stately mansion.
Entitled Wacky Races, The Human Cannonball, Cowboys and Indians and King of the Swingers, all include a group of friends hanging out, experiencing unconventional, child-like fun. The King of the Swingers ident shows the group in the countryside gathered around a lake, fighting in the water and relaxing. But, instead of using a conventional rope swing, the twist comes when one man catapults across the lake on a huge crystal chandelier and lands on a Dave branded rubber ring in the water.
The other Dave idents use a Cowboys and Indians theme, seeing the friends dressed up and wandering around a stately home with plastic guns, bows and arrows. The twist here is that instead of a horse for the cowboys, a zebra is used; Wacky Races shows three people in customised cars racing around the mansion grounds; The Human Cannonball sees a brave woman launched into the clouds from a human cannon ball as her friends wait to catch her on a trampoline a few hundred metres away from the stately home.
Charlie Mawer, executive creative director at Red Bee Media, said: ‘The launch of the new idents for Dave further strengthens the long standing partnership between UKTV and Red Bee Media. By continuing to refresh the channel's identity Dave can be an innovative and exciting destination for its viewers.'
