The company has also struck a three-year deal with betting giant Ladbrokes, which will see advertising across ukbetting's entire network of six web sites. Previously, Ladbrokes had an ad deal only with Teamtalk.
"Consumer brands like being across all our properties," said Peter Dubens, deputy executive chairman at ukbetting. "We need balance in our content sites between driving customers to our own properties and competitors' sites. We want our content sites to be profitable in their own right.
The casino should launch later this year. "We want to offer other products to UK customers and have a casino operation in development," said Dubens.
"It will be linked-off from our content sites and exist as a standalone operation as well."
Ukbetting runs two divisions: its betting business, made up of Totalbet and ukbetting.com, and its content-operation comprising Sportal.com, bettingzone.co.uk, Sportinglife.com and Teamtalk.
The firm has been driving its online advertising revenue, reporting takings of £402,000 for the six months to 30 June, against £75,000 for the same period of last year (see p11).
Dubens said the firm's betting division had reached operational profitability and that the content arm had been "close to breakeven before the recent Teamtalk acquisition".
