Poole was formerly the UK sales manager on IFSEC, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 14-17 May 2012. He has been with UBM for seven years and spent four years working with fire safety exhibition International Firex.
He will now be responsible for IFSEC's global sales strategy and educational content, product development and launch areas. Poole said: "To be the event manager on the UK’s eighth largest exhibition and the world’s largest annual security and fire event is superb. Everyone wants to work with the best brands and IFSEC International is certainly that."
UBM also appointed Kristan Johnstone, who joined UBM in 2005, as international event manager for global IFSEC brands. He will oversee the India, Arabia, West Africa and South Africa branches of the exhibition.
Andy Meyer was also promoted to head of sales on UBM’s most recent event launch, the Global Security Summit. Meyer joined UBM in 2000 and spent several years with the Builder Group Portfolio before joining the security event team.
