The event offered Surrey fans, local residents and workers the chance to meet players – including Surrey stars Rory Hamilton-Brown, Mark Ramprakash, Chris Tremlett, Andre Nel and Gareth Batty – ask questions, get autographs and photographs and try their hand at batting or bowling.

'Lions Loose', as the event was called, also gave Keith Prowse a chance to promote its corporate tickets. According to the hospitality provider, twenty20 has changed corporate buying for cricket, meaning clients don't have to take a day off work, but can instead meet in the space of few hours.

"For companies looking for a maximum return on investment for their budgets, Twenty20 has proved to be a sure-fire way of gathering clients together for an informal evening event," said Keith Prowse head of marketing Ted Walker.
