
Skymag reported more than 7 million monthly readers, up 4.5%, with its Sports Magazine hitting 4 million and Movies Magazine 5 million.
TV Choice reported a monthly circulation of 1,335,894 to the end of June. It saw a 2.4% drop period on period, compared with What's On TV's 3.5% drop and Radio Times' 5.6% drop.
OK! Magazine increased its monthly circulation by 18% period on period. This could be put down to several high-profile stories, including Michael Jackson's death, which spiked its readership dramatically.
Readers Digest has suffered in this quarter's figures. It was down 10.2% period on period with a monthly circulation of 541,282. In the sector, Chat magazine was also down with a monthly circulation of 434,929, dropping 7.3%. Other women's lifestyle magazines including New!, Hello!, That's Life, and Now all lost circulation period on period to the end of June. New! was down 9.7%, Hello! lost 6.1%, That's Life was down 8.8% and Now lost 11.3%. However all managed to make it into the top 33 nationally ranking magazines.
BBC Good Food magazine was down 10.2% period on period with a monthly circulation of 323,171. The magazine ranked 41 competing with supermarket magazines such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's, which all ranked within the top ten. Sainsbury's and Tesco maintained circulation, with Sainsbury's reporting an ABC of 1,499,499, up 0.4% and Tesco Magazine down slightly by 0.9%, reporting a monthly figure of 1,998,407. Asda Magazine was down 13%.
Gossip magazines saw mixed fortunes. Star increased its circulation by 18.5% period on period while Reveal went up 16.9%. Look remained level with a slight increase of 0.3% along with Grazia, which saw a slight rise of 0.7%. Heat was down 5.4% but had the third biggest circulation in the sector after Closer, which was down 1.8% and OK!.
