Turner's future at AOL in doubt

NEW YORK - The future of Ted Turner, the founder of cable news network CNN, is in doubt as it is reported that AOL Time Warner may not renew his contract.

Turner, who owns 4% of the company, has been increasingly sidelined since the merger of AOL and Time Warner. He is a member of the board and holds a number of positions at the company, but none of these are operational roles.

According to reports, if his position of vice-chairman and senior adviser is not renewed it is unlikely that he will remain as a member of the AOL Time Warner board.
