Turner rolls out 'social cinema' Facebook app

Turner Broadcasting is launching a "social cinema" Facebook app, which screens free episodes of its comedy animation brand, Adult Swim.

The app, created by digital agency Essence and f-commerce specialist Milyoni, is available to viewers who "like" the

It is offering the first episode from each Adult Swim series for free, with an additional nine episodes available to rent for 10 Facebook credits (63p) each.

The move comes as Facebook is making significant changes to the site, transforming it from its social networking origins to a platform for content.

Turner is the latest broadcaster to stream content on the site, with . Channel 4 also streamed footage from 'T4 on the beach' earlier this year.

Also earlier this year, Warner Brothers partnered with Facebook to launch a pioneering Facebook movie-rental service.
