Tiscali's now incorporates and contains information about keeping well at work, work and money, and employment rights. The partnership is being trialled initially for 15 months.
The site contains links to government and other online help with help on locating free advice and interactive union finders. Information is presented in a question and answer format with jargon-busting links to key definitions. This is the first time the TUC has syndicated its content online.
TUC spokesman John Wood explained: "As an organisation with a small budget, the web is a brilliant way to make public more than 150 years of employment rights information."
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber added: "By bringing together WorkSmart's expertise and Tiscali's wide reach among internet users, we hope we can help many more people get the best from the world of work."
Richard Ayers, Tiscali portal director, said: "The TUC was an ideal partner for the jobs channel as it has the worker's perspective. It offers a wealth of experience and is packed with useful up-to-date information that is all written in a very clear and straightforward way."
He added: "We were expanding the jobs channel with our unique jobs search which brings together a whole range of jobs sites and wanted to back this up with help for people who are in work and are seeking an understanding of their rights."
