TripAdvisor Rentals has teamed up with interior design brand Wayfair, which will transform the capsule into the ideal home in the sky by creating a secret rooftop garden with 360 degree views of the UK's capital. Interested parties are able to enter the 'Eye Spy a Home in the Sky' competition for a chance to stay in the rainforest-inspired luxury penthouse for one night only.
The competition's winner will be marking history, as the experience will mark the first time the London Eye has been used for an overnight stay since its launch in 2000. The prize also includes a three-night stay in a nearby TripAdvisor Rental, so guests can explore all the landmarks seen from above at ground level.
To enter, customers can head over to TripAdvisor's website and enter their details online, and one winner will be picked at random. The competition will remain open until 19 March, and the experience will take place between 30 March and 3 April.
TripAdvisor Rentals spokesperson Laurel Greatrix said: "Holiday rentals are a great way to see your destination in a whole new way. To have a rental in such an iconic landmark is an extension of what TripAdvisor Rentals can offer travellers every day, whether it’s a glamorous beach house, a downtown flat, a tiny home or a treehouse in the jungle. We list more than 830,000 homes across the globe, so there’s plenty of choice!"
Nadia McCowan Hill, style expert at Wayfair UK, added: "At Wayfair, we offer millions of home products across all styles and budgets to make it possible for anyone to bring their unique vision of home to life. We are delighted to partner with TripAdvisor Rentals to create a first-of-its-kind space in the sky. Our design team at Wayfair forecasted that tropical greenery would be a big trend for home décor in 2017, so it made perfect sense to bring this lush look to life, transforming one of the Coca-Cola London Eye capsules into an exotic getaway."
