Tribal DDB names Agency.com's Brock as new managing director

LONDON - Tribal DDB has named Agency.com's sales and marketing director Bill Brock as its new managing director, following the departure of Ciaran Deering.

Brock will take up his new role on June 20 and report to Paul Hammersley, chairman and CEO of DDB London.

He has 10 years' experience in digital marketing, beginning his career at Multimedia Resources, before moving to Red Sky Interactive in 1998, which was acquired by Agency.com in 2001. He moved from the San Francisco office to London last year.

"The digital marketing space is experiencing a tremendous period of growth and opportunity, and seven memorable years at Red Sky Interactive and Agency.com have prepared me well to help extend Tribal's success and establish Tribal as a leader in this promising future," Brock said.

The news that Deering would be stepping down, revealed in March, came as a surprise. He had been successful in getting the agency back on track after a number of senior staff left to form Lean Mean Fighting Machine in February 2004, and helped Tribal win accounts such as Domestos, Camelot and Marmite.

Hammersley said: "Bill has the vision, energy and personality to drive Tribal forward in a very competitive market place. He comes from a great agency for whom he has worked very successfully on both sides of the Atlantic and brings a wealth of experience to the job"
