Tribal DDB creative directors Bedwood and Ball to leave

LONDON - Rising creative stars Dave Bedwood and Sam Ball, joint creative directors at Tribal DDB and part of the team behind the Volkswagen viral work, are to leave the agency and are believed to be setting up a new outfit.

The pair were named in 北京赛车pk10 magazine's list of the 10 best creative directors of 2003 as well as being faces to watch in 2004.

Ciaran Deering, managing director of Tribal DDB, said that it was an amicable departure and that he had started to look for a replacement.

"These things happen, people move on," he said. "We need to look at the opportunities coming out of their departure to hire someone who can raise the bar, creatively speaking, even further."

北京赛车pk10 named Ball and Bedwood as the 10th best creative directors in the country for their work on Volkswagen, saying that it indicated the progress that digital creativity is making.

They met at Bucks College in 1995 and quickly won recognition by taking a D&AD Silver at the student awards in 1998. They moved to Hamburg to work on Mercedes at Springer & Jacoby, but returned in 1999 taking jobs at BMP Interaction. In 2001 they were made creative directors as the division was rebranded as Tribal DDB.

Ball and Bedwood did not return calls for comment at the time of writing.
