Last night saw the traffic police investigated a speeding car that had careered off the road and into the roof of a house before coming to rest upside down.
The driver miraculously survived but was left to face the wrath of the traffic cops, who suspected a case of road rage gone too far.
'Taggart', starring Alex Norton, saw the team investigating the abduction of young student, whose mother's psychic claims to be able to trace her whereabouts.
Both programmes won a 15% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.
Five's drama 'The Mentalist', featuring the case of a motel double murder, attracted 2.3m viewers and a 10.2% share of the audience.
Channel 4 documentary 'The Homecoming', following journalist Rachel Roberts as she explored her past including her time growing up in a children's home, pulled in 1.5m viewers and a 6.4% share of the audience. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 1.6m viewers.
The second part of 'Keep it in the Family', focusing on the family that runs the Castle Hotel in Taunton, drew 1.2m viewers and a 5.2% share of the audience to BBC Two.
