Beta, the agency launched by Robert Campbell and Garry Lace in 2009, has acquired the CRM and digital agency BEC, led by Chris Barraclough. Barraclough and the BEC team of seven will move into the Beta offices and will trade under the Beta name. Barraclough's job title at the agency has yet to be decided. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Thomas Cook has confirmed the appointment of ex-Confused.com top marketer Mike Hoban as its new director of marketing, brand and customer insight. ()

Sony Europe media director Dominic Fawcett, and vice-president for marketing and communications, Ben Moore, are among those departing the electronics giant as part of an ongoing restructure of its marketing department. ()

PepsiCo's first president and global marketer, John Compton, is leaving the company after 30 years with the soft drinks giant and just six months in the global role. ()

Bupa's top marketer Martin George is set to leave the health insurance provider as part of a global restructure. ()

Tea brand Twinings is to part ways with its marketing director, Sean Summers, who is moving to Argentina to head ecommerce business MercadoLibre. ()

Steve Ridgway, Virgin Atlantic's chief executive, is to step down from his post in 2013 after 23 years at the airline. ()

News Corporation has named long-standing executive Andrew Knight as the new chairman of Times Newspapers, replacing Rupert Murdoch who stood down from the role in July. ()

Mindshare has promoted Charlotte Tice to the role of head of press, replacing Vanessa Clifford, who took up her new job as strategy director at newspaper marketing body Newsworks this week. ()
