Barclays has hired former Vodafone marketing chief David Wheldon to head up its global corporate reputation, amid the negative perception of the banking industry in the UK and overseas. ()

Simon Calver, the long-serving chief executive of LoveFilm, is taking on the task of turning around the struggling mother and baby retailer Mothercare, as its chief executive. ()

Former Camelot, Kraft and Somerfield marketer Phil Smith has been appointed to the lead marketing role for the Queen's Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. ()

Warburtons has parted company with marketing director Richard Hayes after nearly five years. ()

Troubled food company Premier Foods is parting company with group marketing director Jon Goldstone, who is leaving the owner of Mr Kipling and Hovis after a restructure of its marketing operations. ()

Yahoo's chairman Roy Bostock and three other directors have announced they will step down as the digital media company continues its major internal overhaul. ()

Microsoft has appointed Mandeep Mason, sales director at Nokia-owned Navteq, as director of mobile advertising sales for EMEA, to "refine" the company's mobile strategy and expand its revenue streams. ()

Telegraph Media Group (TMG), the publisher of The Daily Telegraph, has made a number of digital appointments, including promoting its digital editor Edward Roussel to the new role of executive editor digital. ()

MEC has hired former Media Brands mobile strategist Jide Sobo as its head of mobile. ()
