AKQA and DLKW Lowe strengthen their creative departments, Maxus ups its trading credentials and Anna Crona leaves Ikea, in BR's round-up of this week's people moves in advertising, marketing and media.

DLKW Lowe has appointed DDB London's creative directors Dave Henderson and Richard Denney as its executive creative directors. The pair, who will work closely with joint chief executives Tom Knox and Richard Warren, replace George Prest, who resigned from his role in January. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10) 

AKQA has promoted Duan Evans and Nick Turner to the roles of joint executive creative directors. Both will report directly to James Hilton, the AKQA co-founder and its chief creative officer (±±¾©Èü³µpk10) 

Rufus Olins, the chief executive of Warc, has resigned with immediate effect after nearly three years at the marketing intelligence group. Olins joined Warc in January 2009 from Haymarket Media Group, where he was managing director of Haymarket Brand Media, the publisher of ±±¾©Èü³µpk10. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10) 

Martin Bowley, the former chief executive of Carlton Media Sales, has joined London-based digital creative agency Acknowledgement as a board advisor. He will focus on helping the agency develop its entertainment client base. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Anna Crona, the marketing director of Ikea UK & Ireland, is leaving after 25 years at the furniture retailer. The retailer plans to replace Crona, but in the interim the role will be covered by Martin Hansson, Ikea UK’s retail manager. () 

HTC has appointed its first head of marketing for the UK and Ireland. James Atkins joins from Freesat, where he was commercial marketing manager for almost four years. () 

Premier Foods has appointed the man who heads up Kraft’s European business as its new chief executive, replacing the retiring Robert Schofield. Mike Clarke, president of Kraft Food Europe, will be chief executive from 1 September this year. ()

Ashley Tabor, the founder and executive president of Global Group, has been appointed chairman of The Radio Academy, replacing BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music controller Bob Shennan. Adrian van Klaveren, controller of BBC Radio 5 Live, becomes deputy chairman of The Radio Academy with immediate effect. () 

Trinity Mirror Regionals has appointed former Northcliffe regional managing director Steve Anderson Dixon to the new role of regional managing director of the Midlands, as two executives leave the business. John Griffith, managing director of Birmingham, is retiring from his position and Debbie Davies, managing director of Coventry, will leave the company. () 

IPC Media has appointed Jhan Rushton as advertising director for its fashion and beauty magazine, InStyle. Rushton, who takes up his post with immediate effect, joins the publisher from rival Hachette Filipacchi, where he was head of promotions. ( 

Maxus has made a further trading hire, appointing Stuart Garvie as deputy global trading director, reporting to global trading head Alan Hodge. His appointment is effective immediately. Garvie will also report to Maxus Global chief executive Kelly Clark and will be based in the Maxus office in London.  ()
