Trading places: this week's people moves

Following the restructure at ITV last week, Channel 5 takes its turn to freshen up the senior sales staff, joining numerous agencies that are ringing the changes, as BR rounds up this week's industry moves in advertising, marketing and media.

O&M London has appointed a leader for its creative department following a three-year hiatus. Gerry Human, the worldwide executive creative director on Unilever, will become its executive creative director. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Agency Republic's executive creative director Gavin Gordon-Rogers has resigned from the agency amid a management restructure. Chief executive Jane McNeill is moving to the new role of chief operating officer. Managing director Matt Kwiecinski will assume NcNeill's responsibilities as chief executive. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Leo Burnett has promoted the UK group managing director, Paul Lawson, to chief executive of its London agency, while the group chief executive, Andrew Edwards, takes on the additional role of group chairman. Lawson, who will also retain the group managing director role, will continue to report to Edwards. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

VCCP has appointed David Newton, the head of client services at Dare, as its new managing director of digital. His appointment follows a number of recent changes to VCCP's digital offering, including the departure of its head of digital, Michael Edge, in September. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Skoda has promoted Heidi Cartledge to head of marketing. Cartledge will lead the eight-strong brand and product communications team and report to Robert Hazelwood, Skoda UK director. ()

Dermot Boden, LG Electronics' global chief marketing officer, has left the company. An LG spokesman said the move was a "parting of the ways", and Boden left on 1 January. ()

Burger King's UK and Ireland marketing director, Sarah Power, has left the company after four years. Burger King said that Power had left to "pursue other career opportunities". Her departure was finalised on 14 January. ()

The Co-operative Group has hired Gill Barr to the role of group marketing director, less than a year after she joined MasterCard. She replaces Patrick Allen, who joined construction company LNT Construction. ()

Nick Bampton, the commercial sales director at Channel 5, has restructured the broadcaster's sales team, bringing in four senior members of staff. Agostino Di Falco joins as the director of a new marketing partnerships division. Ross Belcher is joining as a trading director, while Andy Atkinson becomes the head of trading. Sufia von Bismark has been made the head of operations. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Thinkbox, the TV marketing body, has announced that David Brennan is leaving the organisation in July after four and a half years as its research and strategy director, to pursue other opportunities. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Carat has promoted Richard Morris to the role of deputy managing director as part of a wider restructure instigated by the recently appointed managing director, Tracy De Groose. Morris will retain his current responsibilities as head of planning. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Mindshare has appointed Paul Armstrong as its head of social media, following the promotion of Joanna Lyall to the new role of head of integration and partnerships. He will head a team of 12 and report to Chris Lockwood, head of invention. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Channel 4 has promoted Gill Pritchard to the new role of director of audience technologies and insight, in what chief executive David Abraham has described as "the final piece of the jigsaw" in Channel 4's executive management restructure. ()

Kinetic Worldwide, WPP's out-of-home specialist, has lost its chairman, and one of its founding driving forces, Eric Newnham, who is taking a break from the industry. Newnham, aged 51, has stepped down from his position with immediate effect. ()
