Former Tesco Personal Finance marketer Paulette Rowe has joined new banking venture NBNK. Rowe, who left her role as commercial and marketing director of in July 2009, has been appointed to the NBNK board. ()
Hewlett-Packard's chief marketing officer Michael Mendenhall has resigned. Mendenhall joined the California-based tech giant in 2007. He was previously at Disney for 17 years, where he was executive vice-president of global marketing. ()
Videojug, the "how-to" online video site, has hired Ash Ali as its first marketing director to support its growth plans. Ali will oversee all marketing and communications for Videojug and will report directly to its chief executive, Tom Laidlaw. ()

O2 Media, the sales arm of the mobile telecoms giant, has hired former ITV online revenue head Gary Cole in the new role of commercial director. He will be responsible for all direct, agency and international sales teams and will report to Shaun Gregory, managing director of O2 Media. ()
TV and telecoms provider Virgin Media is to retain an 18-strong sales team, led by Mark Brandon, director of platforms of the company's former sales house Ids, to sell its digital advertising space. Brandon will report to Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media. It is believed that Ids director of digital Stuart Flint will take a lead agency facing sales role in the new team. ()
IPC has promoted James Thrower to publisher of weekly magazine Nuts and casual games website Mousebreaker. Thrower, who was previously associate publisher of Mousebreaker, will report to Jo Smalley, publishing director of Nuts and Mousebreaker. In addition, Sam Wight, previously digital marketing manager for the two publications, has been promoted to senior marketing manager for both titles. ()
Future has poached Nuts publisher Clair Porteous from IPC to fill the role of group publisher for its film portfolio, which includes Total Film. Porteous will join on 7 February, when current film associate publisher Stuart Galbraith will move to become associate publisher of gaming titles Official Xbox 360 Magazine, independent title Xbox World and boys' action title Nitro. Porteous and Galbraith will report to Simon Maxwell, group publisher for Future's entertainment portfolio. ()
MediaCom North America has appointed Harvey Goldhersz, the chief operating officer of MediaCom Worldwide, as chief executive, after the resignation of Doug Checkeris. ()
