George Prest is to become executive creative director of DLKW Lowe, the agency formed by the merger of Delaney Lund Knox Warren and Lowe London. Prest is currently ECD of DLKW, but was previously a creative director at Lowe. Steve Boswell, originally from DLKW, and Tom Hudson, from Lowe, take up the roles of deputy creative directors, reporting to Prest. ()

Gyro HSR chief executive Richard Glasson has left the agency, to be replaced by Christoph Becker, who previously held the title of chief creative officer. Becker continues with his creative duties, while it is not known if Glasson has a job to go to. ()

JWT has lured Dare’s associate creative director Olly Robinson over to become a creative director. He joins the agency next month, working on all JWT's clients and reporting to Russell Ramsey, executive creative director. ()

Rob Isaacs has left his role as planning director at EHS 4D to become the social strategy director at Adam & Eve. He joins the agency immediately, and works with David Golding and Jon Forsyth on Adam & Eve’s integrated planning team. The role is a new one at the agency. ()

Marketing

Marks & Spencer has named former Citibank vice-chairman Robert Swannell as the successor to Sir Stuart Rose as chairman. Swannell joins the M&S board in October and takes over from Rose next year. He spent 33 years working as an investment banker, having joined Schroders in 1977. ()

Jill McDonald is promoted from the role of chief marketing officer at McDonald’s to UK chief executive. She replaces Steve Easterbrook, who takes on the role of global chief brand officer. Easterbrook’s role is a new one at the burger chain, and encompasses marketing, menu innovation and strategic leadership on restaurant design. ()

Terri Tinella, marketing director of Nestlé's confectionery division, is leaving to return to Canada. She spent 18 months in the role in the UK and will move internally to take up the position of managing director for confectionery at Nestlé Canada. ()

Media

Initiative Media ended a lengthy hunt for a chief executive by naming Alex Altman to the role. Altman was previously managing director of Group M’s dedicated COI unit, M4C. He takes over from Gary Birtles, who is moving to an EMEA role at Initiative’s parent company, Mediabrands. ()

David Weeks has been promoted to the role of head of advertising at Dennis Publishing’s current affairs magazine The Week. He was previously strategic sales director and will continue with those duties, as well as being responsible for UK and international ad sales. ()

Twitter is building up a sales team, hiring former Fox Audience Network president Adam Bain as its first president of global revenue. It has also recruited Brent Hill as director of sales for the central US region. He was previously at Google, where he was head of financial services for the Midwest. ()

Airport media specialist Eye has appointed Lee Cutter as head of sales for London. He joins from CBS Outdoor, where he was head of retail sales. At the same time, Inigo Melis is promoted to the new role of head of sales strategy from his current role of head of agency sales. ()

Zach Leonard has been recruited as digital managing director across The Independent and the London Evening Standard, following the departure of Bill Swanson, who was managing director of Independent.co.uk. Leonard joins from News International, where he was managing director of graduate recruitment business Milkround. ()

At the same time, Simon Davies, who was commercial director for The Independent and The Independent on Sunday, has left unexpectedly. He will be replaced by Melanie Danks, who was previously deputy ad director at Independent Newspapers. ()

Future, the special-interest media group, has announced the appointment of Mark Wood as new chief executive of its UK business, following the departure of Robert Price. Wood was previously chief executive of ITN, until 2009, and is on the board of Future, but will step down to take up the role. Price left in May to take up the role of UK managing director of 20th Century Fox. ()
